12ENE25 – MÁLAGA.- January 9th marks the official launching of a project that began taking shape in 2022, spearheaded by Fundación Victoria, in partnership of the vocational training division of the San Pablo CEU University Foundation. The campus is located in a prime spot --the Casa Diocesana--, a historic building equipped with cutting-edge facilities, situated in the Pasaje de los Almendrales and offering stunning views of the city.

Known by its initials in Spanish, EIHT (Escuela Internacional de Hostelería y Turismo) was created in response to ongoing growth in the restaurant and hospitality industries, which are experiencing a golden age in the region. The school aims to train highly qualified professionals in Málaga and throughout Andalusia, bolstering the region’s reputation as a high-quality destination known for its culinary excellence. This vision is embodied by EIHT, the International School of Hospitality and Tourism of Málaga, a joint effort by Fundación Victoria and CEU.

EIHT’s campus is located in the Casa Diocesana, a historic building meticulously equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and resources. The school will be staffed by a top-tier teaching team, including chefs, service managers, hoteliers, and other professionals. The project, conceived in April 2022, is set to open its doors in the first quarter of this year in preparation for the 2025-26 academic year.

EIHT aspires to become Andalusia’s top school in culinary education, training new generations of professionals capable of meeting the high expectations of an increasingly demanding sector. It also aims to enhance students’ career opportunities, helping them achieve their goals in a competitive field.

On January 9, EIHT was introduced to the media, industry professionals, and institutions at a special event attended by prominent figures in the community, including Málaga's bishop Jesús Catalá, the city's mayor Francisco de la Torre, the Junta de Andalucía's Tourism Minister Arturo Bernal, the President of Málaga’s Provincial Council Francisco Salado, Málaga’s regional delegate for Educational Development and Vocational Training Miguel Briones, and CEU’s General Director Javier Tello.

EIHT will offer a comprehensive program in culinary arts, covering three main areas. Firstly, a dual training program will be offered, giving students the chance to obtain both an Advanced Diploma in Kitchen Management as well as an Advanced Diploma in Restaurant Service Management. Second, throughout the academic year, the school will provide specialized training for industry professionals, focusing on culinary techniques in areas such as pastry-making, baking, and restaurant services. It will also host culinary seminars tailored to aspiring chefs, restaurant managers, and business leaders, covering topics such as sustainability, marketing, communication, business strategy, and management. Finally, EIHT will offer a wide range of short-term courses and workshops, open to non-professionals and cooking enthusiasts who are interested in developing specific skills in the culinary arts.

Fundación Victoria and CEU are advancing this project through strategic partnerships with public and private entities in the food, farming, restaurant and tourism sectors, working closely with leading institutions and companies in their respective areas of expertise. In particular, the Málaga City Council has reached an agreement with the Bishopric of Málaga (the property owner), to provide €600,000 to renovate and equip the new kitchens and other facilities needed for the school.

Further information can be found on the school’s website, eiht.edu.es, providing more details about an initiative that seeks to invigorate the sector. The International School of Hospitality and Tourism aims to offer employment opportunities to new generations, contribute to the local and regional economy, promote social inclusion, celebrate culinary culture, and actively support healthy eating. The EIHT Campus aspires to become a breeding ground for prestigious professionals who will meet the needs of a market demanding highly skilled workers, enriching an industry vital to both regional and national economies.
